Blogging in the classroom.

My school district has announce a really amazing technology initiative.  I am really excited about this.  It actually coincides with my Masters in Education Integrated Technology quite well.
I have been learning about all kinds of amazing website and tools I could use in my classroom. Part of the problem is that there is soo much out there. I'm not quite sure where I want to start yet. Well... that's not entirely true.  I am leaning heavily towards having my students use Blogger (ta-da!) or Wordpress.  I like Wordpress because I can lock down the privacy tight on it and everyone's responses are all in the same place.

However, that being said, Google has soo much to offer with google docs, gmail, sites, blogger, etc.   Realistically, I'll probably end up going with google. I think it would be easier for students to remember 1 password and ID for many tools rather than many.
Now, if I could just find more time to play with all of these tools to see what works best.  I guess I can't be afraid to try something new, even though I may not be able to use computers as often as I would like. These are important skills that my students need to know.  As they say... if there's a will, there's a way.
