Old friends and SIM cards.

7-4-2013
Happy 4th of July!

I made it in last night and finally got through customs around 10:40.   After getting out and buying my bus ticket to get to my hotel I'm approached by a former coworker and friend, Atsu.   He was at Haneda to pick up ACs(American Councilors) for camp.  Sadly, we only had a. Lille of minutes to talk before I had to leave. I wish I would've taken a picture with him.  It was really great to see him. I mean, really,  what are the odds in a city that big with two international airports that I would run into someone I know.  Very cool!

Now... The SIM card debacle. I bought a SIM card that was supposed to work in Japan for my cell phone that would give me unlimited data.  Right now it's not working so I won't be able to make as many updates as I would like to.  Finding free (and working) wifi here is like finding an albino squirrel on Wall Street.

So for now.  I will up date on the go, putting the date at the top of each section.    Right now I'm on a train headed for Osaka where I will change trains to go to Hakata(in Kyushu).  From there I take a bus to where I'll be meeting Guy Healy to discuss Camp Kyushu.  I'll also be meeting so e former students and ACs in Kyushu as well.  I'm sure I'll post pictures of them and tell you about them.  Especially my students. It makes me real proud knowing they are in Japan using their Japanese.

Above is a picture of a PUBLIC toilet at the Haneda Airport bus terminal.  Look how nice it is.  Not to mention the high tech toilet seat.
